Lexi Turns 3 – 2011
This is another one of my favorite families and without question one of my favorite 3 year olds hands down. She likes my camera…a lot! You can’t help but look at her and end up smiling just as big a she does.

These two guys have to be some of my favorite folks. I’ve been with them from their engagement session in to the wedding date and now to top it off….the maternity session for Ashley. It’s an amazing thing to watch to young fantastic people in love grow and see their lives unfold before my own eyes. The cool thing is that since we did this session little Miss Olivia Rose has blessed us with her presence….awesome!

Sarah Sanford and Mason Elam Wedding Day June 17, 2011 – Lubbock Spirit Ranch Wedding Venue
Well I’m a little late posting this because of a vacation I took the day after the ceremony. Thankfully these great people understood and fore gave me for making them wait for their wedding photographs. What a wonderful thing to be a part of to say the least as these two folks are those that I’ve been impressed with since our first introductions. This was such a blessed and beautiful day and it was all meant to belong to Sarah and Mason. The venue was fantastic the decor even better and then you top it off with a gorgeous bride and a stunning groom to make it the perfect ceremony and event. God Bless you two and best wishes on your long and glorious future together.
Whiteface Prom 2011 + Photo Booth
You can’t judge these shots until you read this…HA!
Have you ever had a day where nothing worked out the way it was supposed to? Well I had 2 of them back to back…lol. Whiteface sought my service to help capture their Prom for 2011 and I thank you guys very very much for letting me be a part of this significant period of time for these kids. Stuff like this only comes a few times for most and I’m honored that you entrusted me to snag these moments. My plans were to set up a Photo Booth for the kids….you know open air with a huge white back drop a lot of props and the kids just being…well kids. Where my plan started to fall apart was Friday…UPS never showed up with the my stands and 12×24 backdrop I ordered just for this event. So there goes PLAN “A” out the window. In a panic I call up my good friend Kristen who just finished doing a Photo Booth set up at the Lubbock Cooper Prom with great succes. She opened up access for me to go and grab her gear so that I could still do what I wanted to do….“Love you tons KB for being you”! So now with PLAN “B” in full swing thanks to Kristen I head out to the location to start getting setup. The schedule was simple with me taking the scenic picture for the couples from 5;30-7 and then they were leaving at that point to go to dinner. Well Whiteface only wanted me to be there from 5:30-7 and that’s all I charged them for but since I wanted to do the Photo Booth I told them I’d stay for a few more hours no charge just to do this for them. So I get everyone done with the scenic shots on time and then they all start to head off to dinner. I figured I would go ahead and get everything for the booth set up at this point and then go eat dinner with them since they had offered. Here is PLAN “B” falling apart….I set up the stands and put the back drop paper on the bar and then slowly started to on roll the paper to stretch it out for the set. Turns out there was only 5 ft left on the roll….who would have known…it’s on the roll and you just can really tell how much is left until you roll it out…lol. Yip that’s what I said! So PLAN “A” was the 12×24 backdrop that didn’t show up…PLAN “B” was borrowed equipment with a 10x whatever paper back drop…that ended up being a bit short. At this point I think most folks would have been done….well I decided I wanted to do this so I was going to find away one way or another! On to PLAN “C”… All I had left were two white floor boards which were 4×8 sheets used for walking on to help keep the paper from getting snagged on heels and shoes. They were dirty and a little beat up but the only thing white I had left to use. I lay them flat on the floor and duct tapped them together from behind to give me a 8×8 white back drop…not ideal in anyway or form especially with the huge 8ft seam in the middle that was going to show up in almost every shot. It worked….barely I’m so glad I had my Profoto D1 500′s with me other wise I would have been toast! I hit the background with a second light at full power the blow out the white seam as best as it could be done all things considered and then photoshopped a little in afterwards. The big negative about having the second light the way I did was the hot spots it created on the subjects…but it had to be there. The 8ft seam is still present in a few shots but it’s not too bad…I have to say that once these kids got into it…they really got into it! So I will apologize now for the little inconsistencies in some of the photo booth shots but it’s just how it had to be to get anything at all. I hope you guys all enjoyed yourselves because I sure did just watching you guys. I thank you once again for having me….I hope you make it a habit to have me around in the future!
I sure wish I could have done this at a few other Proms that were close to me….it could have been really fun.

MHS Bulldogs vs. Amarillo in Lubbock Tx 5-14-2011 for the MRT
It’s amazing when you put your mind to it what you can accomplish in 20 minutes on the side line of a baseball field. Here are a few highlights from coverage I was asked to do for the Midland Reporter Telegram.

Tae 2011 – Football Senior Portrait’s Cooper Pirates
It’s not often for myself that I’m left without words…this is just one of those times. When we went out to do this session lets just put it this way…someone larger than ourselves had better plans than we did. Tae is just a cool dude…and I think if GQ Magazine was still around he could knab the cover…lol…someone remembers that one I’m sure. Dude…thank you! I’m really thankful that you asked me to do this for you and your family. We shall see you again one day.

Lunch Time at Amore Mia in Levelland Texas…on assignment
Think back to one of those meals you have in the past…you know the one…where when you think about it you taste it all over again! I had one of those today…the chicken roll at Amore Mia. Shredded chicken mixed together with spinach tomatoes crab meat and a whole truck load of flavor rolled all into a single ball of “Holy Cow!” If you haven’t been to Amore Mia…go. If you have been and have not tried the chicken roll….go back! It’s so good that I’m not using a tooth pick to get rid of the little piece in my teeth…I want it to be there forever!
