The reference post for the incredible game played by the Roughnecks against Quanah for the right to continue on with the State Title Journey for 2011. This win elevates Sundown to an 11-0 record for the season which will continue in Abilene Texas this coming Friday.
This is the reference post for the game coverage of the Shallowater Cooper Football game 10-27-2011. If you were there you know as well as I do that this game was incredible for both teams. The gallery I have for it is posted here: http://sconwayphotos.zenfolio.com/p561738098
I knew it was coming….I just knew it. I had such a huge compelling pull to bring me to the Brownfield stadium to watch this game. I could have been anywhere in Texas under the Friday Night Lights but my decision was made. I was going to watch the streak be broken. This was a great game in many ways and the score was just the topper on the cake. The Defense holding the line and flipping the switch becoming the aggressors on the field was incredible to see. The offensive line opening the holes and never letting the line fall was very pleasing to the eyes. Watching the running backs make it happen pushing and pushing and pushing more each time they had the ball was pure joy to witness. I can’t say enough good about what I saw in this game from the Lobos side of the ball on this epic night. Sure many will say it’s just a win but those that are a part of this team or involved with this team know better than that. This is a game changer this is a life changer this is the start of a new beginning. Congrats Lobos….you rocked it.

A 95 mile drive to one very poorly lit field from a photographers stand point. Not a big deal because I strobe games anyway…and that was great up to the point that I got hit and my flash bracket was snapped in two. So here is how bad the lights were…photogs will appreciate this…avg. EXIF: iso 5000 f2.8 1/250 with in camera ev value @+5…and the shots are still dark! But hey its all good! Witnessed my first 16 man football game…but nobody told sundown about it so they still only played 12….a few will understand this. Way to go Roughnecks….you rocked that house!! As far as getting hit on the side line…I’m fine…my budget and equipment not so much. Like the Credit Card commercials do it…. gas…$45.00…. Chinese buffet…$10…..nikon sb900 snapped off my monopod by the opposing team….$475.00….getting to see one of the dumbest refs ever and Roughnecks Friday night football…..priceless!
So who did he touch on the sideline?
A few highlights on the blog but the gallery link is here: http://sconwayphotos.zenfolio.com/p56646283
This is a series of images taken after my strobe was broken off so the quality of the images are really low in my opinion.
Friday Night Lights 1A Division 1 6 Man Bi-District Playoff Football Ropes vs. Spur 11-12-10 with HPRN Radio
This game was brought to you in part with the assistance of HPRN Radio Networks and what a game it was in deed. As 6 man is most of the time the action was wall to wall none stop but in the end a victor emerges and that was Spur. I honestly didn’t know who was going to take this one until the last seconds of the game when Spur Wide Receiver #35 Landon Hinson caught a 40yrd Touch Down pass landing on the goal line after this leap to snatch the ball to seal the fate of the game for good.
For those of you that heard the game on the radio you know well and clear to use discount code HPRN in checkout to save 25% off any online purchases until Nov 21st.
A few highlights are posted here on this page but the full gallery is right here and should be fully populated by Saturday evening: http://sconwayphotos.zenfolio.com/p694921254
Update post for the blog….
History was made in this game for The Dawson Dragons. Most schools and player take for granted the big Team Tunnels for the teams to run through on to the fields. For Dawson…this was their first time ever to have one to run through not to mention they had brand new uniforms and won the game too boot. Update post for the blog with one of the best games of the year that I have seen yet. The Gallery is located here: http://sconwayphotos.zenfolio.com/p548138013
I was only able to snag the action from the second half of this game…and there was still a lot of it going on…at least on one side of the field!
You rocked it Roughnecks!
