Child Model Photoshoot – Levelland TX

Well this is something you will be seeing more of in the near future. This of course is my son Court 3yrs old…in an outfit provided by a local children clothing outlet. We will actually be setting up a kids open session very soon that the public will be able to come to and get some really cool shots of your kids. Keep looking for more info on that coming soon.

Levelland ISD Basketball Invitational 2009 – Championship Game Levelland vs. El Paso Irvin 12-05-09

EPIC…is the best most powerful word I can find to describe this game. If you were there then you know what I mean as both teams were fantastic and the results into overtime proved it. Big congrats to the Loboettes for pulling this one out on top.
The gallery is in the sports section with about 700 shots and each image is both in color and one of my favorite black and white treatments. I felt this game needed a little extra attention…so I gave it some.
Levelland Basketball Invitational 2009 Day 01

From what I have been able to watch so far the action has been nonstop. A huge upset for Horizon over Godly. Just amazing to see this one unfold….Horizon is 5 down with 45 seconds in the game and with nothing more than pure determination they pull it off with with two buckets the last 2 pointer at the 1.4 second mark in the game on clock and get a foul on the play to put #14 in the hot seat with 1 free throw. She nailed it…game over.
Levelland dominated Bel Air with a 20 point gap…no one on the Loboettes looked like they broke a sweat.
In the gallery system under basketball I have Godly vs. Horizon and Levelland vs. Bel Air just look for the Levelland Invitational.
Senior Portraits Levelland TX – Stephanie Lopez LISD 2010 – 11-30-09

Meet “Giggles” AKA Stephanie Lopez a Senior this year for Levelland ISD. Thanks goes out to Mom for support and Don Carpenter (fellow photog) for making Stephanie live up to her nick name “Giggles”! Had to be the most fun session to date.
6 Man Football Qtr Final Playoffs Borden County vs. Sands at Lubbock 11-28-09

Amazing talent and determination with a relentless drive to win was easily seen on both teams clearly. Borden however is just a well oiled machine geared to dominate…and they did. Sands never gave up you could see that in their eyes but their will just couldn’t overcome Bordens drive.

6 Man Football Playoffs Motley County vs. Miami in Silverton 11-27-09

First of all I have to say that this was a challenging stadium as the lights were defiantly on the low end of the scale which has made these photos on an average fall bellow my usual standards on quality. The low light makes it very difficult to get nice clean shots consistently especially with my ISO averaging about 12,800 most of the night…you photogs will appreciate that. So to say the least the photos are a little grainy and the crops are not as tight as usual…this just couldn’t be helped.
My trek to Silverton which was a 260 mile round trip for me was my first venture into 6 Man Football. Man was I tired! These two teams were insatiable with their appetites for scoring and needless the say the action was non-stop.
Unfortunately with my time spent on the field I was able to take about 1400 shots only to have 556 images left after my first run through in edits…but hey something is better than nothing right…especially for a 1/4 Final 6 Man Championship Football Game.
Find your way over to the gallery and look in the sports section and then football. I’ve added a 6 Man category to football so it’s gonna be pretty easy to find.

This was a requested sports session from Shallowater to focus on their girls in the Playoffs this year. Shallowater held their ground firmly with the meeting ending at 3 games…..congrats to the Fillies for their first PO win.

My wife tells me a got a text this morning from a friend of ours talking about the low fog tipping the tops of rigs and a full moon still being out. Well I missed the rigs and took some shots at the Sundown Golf Course in place. With a little Photoshop assistance and about an hour of time here is your end results for the fall trees and low level fog. It could have been better if I had been up earlier…but that would be more amazing than the photographs themselves.

It’s been 25 years of marriage for these two and they act like it’s been a year when you hang around them. These guys are fun lovin’ and light heart’ed to boot but you’ll be able to see more of what I mean by the photographs. They wanted something as laid back and comfortable in a look as they are in person. So I did my best.

Back Country Trip on a 4 Wheeler

I hopped on my brother-n-laws 4 wheeler the other day to see what I could find off the beat and path. The day at conclusion tallied up about 35-40 miles going around the middle of nowhere on the edge of Sundown TX. Took a few snaps of interest and will probably have more later to add to the list. The trip lead me to meet some great folks at the end of the day in which Mrs. Hill actually caught a catfish for me to take a shot of.

Oil Patch Day Celebration 2009 Sundown TX

Who says small towns don’t have anything going for them?
Sundowns community would be one to look at you with a tilted head and one raised eyebrow if you said that Sundown Texas didn’t have anything going for it. If it isn’t for the awesome athletics in the schools or the incredible academic records of past and current too boot. Maybe for Sundown it is the community in general and the way it will pool together when someone is in need stricken by misfortune, illness or even something horrible like cancer. One thing is for sure that on the first weekend of August Sundown is booming with activity and full of community life for the Oil Patch Day Celebration. It becomes an event you don’t want to miss out on and one you need to put on your calendar every year. The event boasted tons of vendors that were based from a far and some local as well with food and lots of nicnacs to buy. Lets not leave out the community open competitions in sand volleyball, horseshoes…and don’t forget Guitar Hero! Of course you can’t leave out the parade and the fantastic fireworks display at the end of the day. I could ramble on and on but I like my photographs to talk more than I do myself. So I’ll leave you with the way I saw Sundowns Oil Patch Day Celebration 2009 through my lens.
