Senior Portraits Levelland TX – Austin Reid LISD 2010 – Day 2
Dec 16th
Well we did our first session with Austin about a week ago but we ended up running out of time and light to do everything we wanted to do. We had to get shots of him and his Gibson!
Levelland Basketball Invitational 2009 Day 01
Dec 4th
From what I have been able to watch so far the action has been nonstop. A huge upset for Horizon over Godly. Just amazing to see this one unfold….Horizon is 5 down with 45 seconds in the game and with nothing more than pure determination they pull it off with with two buckets the last 2 pointer at the 1.4 second mark in the game on clock and get a foul on the play to put #14 in the hot seat with 1 free throw. She nailed it…game over.
Levelland dominated Bel Air with a 20 point gap…no one on the Loboettes looked like they broke a sweat.
In the gallery system under basketball I have Godly vs. Horizon and Levelland vs. Bel Air just look for the Levelland Invitational.

Senior Portraits Levelland TX – Austin Reid LISD 2010
Dec 4th

Cool calm and collected is the first thing that came to mind when I met Austin the other day…we took ourselves to a few different places and actually went indoors to get out of the chilly weather.
It was nice to met you Austin. Thanks for letting me do this for ya.
Senior Portraits Levelland TX – Stephanie Lopez LISD 2010 – 11-30-09
Dec 1st

Meet “Giggles” AKA Stephanie Lopez a Senior this year for Levelland ISD. Thanks goes out to Mom for support and Don Carpenter (fellow photog) for making Stephanie live up to her nick name “Giggles”! Had to be the most fun session to date.
6 Man Football Qtr Final Playoffs Borden County vs. Sands at Lubbock 11-28-09
Nov 30th
Amazing talent and determination with a relentless drive to win was easily seen on both teams clearly. Borden however is just a well oiled machine geared to dominate…and they did. Sands never gave up you could see that in their eyes but their will just couldn’t overcome Bordens drive.
In the sports section of the gallery under football and 6 man I have placed 388 images from this game.

A few highlights:
6 Man Football Playoffs Motley County vs. Miami in Silverton 11-27-09
Nov 29th
First of all I have to say that this was a challenging stadium as the lights were defiantly on the low end of the scale which has made these photos on an average fall bellow my usual standards on quality. The low light makes it very difficult to get nice clean shots consistently especially with my ISO averaging about 12,800 most of the night…you photogs will appreciate that. So to say the least the photos are a little grainy and the crops are not as tight as usual…this just couldn’t be helped.
My trek to Silverton which was a 260 mile round trip for me was my first venture into 6 Man Football. Man was I tired! These two teams were insatiable with their appetites for scoring and needless the say the action was non-stop.
Unfortunately with my time spent on the field I was able to take about 1400 shots only to have 556 images left after my first run through in edits…but hey something is better than nothing right…especially for a 1/4 Final 6 Man Championship Football Game.
Find your way over to the gallery and look in the sports section and then football. I’ve added a 6 Man category to football so it’s gonna be pretty easy to find.

Whitten Family Session 2009
Nov 23rd

Meet the Whitten family through a little Christmas Card Session for 2009…and you can’t forget about JW the family dog. What a mess!!!
This was a ton of fun guys thanks for calling me!
Playoff Football Littlefield vs. Riverroad in Plainview 11-20-09
Nov 21st

This was a hardcore game all the way down to the last 6 seconds and the last long bomb pass into the end zone. I am amazed at the talents on both of these teams…guess that’s what they were both in the Playoffs. I took about 700 shots and knock it down after edits to about 350. The game gallery is located in the sports section of the gallery under football in the 2009 gallery…

Photographing Levelland TX at Midnight+Lightning
Jul 30th
If you are anything like me you drive by things, places and stuff that sticks in your mind and rings that little bell in your head that makes you say to yourself…”I wonder what that would look like” I’ve been doing just that every evening I’ve turned down College Ave off of 114 in Levelland. SO…I was coming home from shooting a baseball game in Sudan and when I came to the intersection I had to stop and really see what it would look like.
This was the end result with the camera mounted on a tripod set at a 15-30 second exposures and f8-22 with ISO at 200.
The Lord blessed me with some more awesome Lightning photographs….updating this topic with them on 7-30-09. If you would like copies of any of these photographs please call me directly 806-891-0378See the Levelland News Press Online

Sundown Texas Lightning Photography 2009
Jul 29th
I was given information that this photograph along with a few others actual got some airtime on Channel 11 KCBD in Lubbock Texas. Did anyone have it recorded on July 22nd 2009? I didn’t get to see it!
How it happen…
I’m up late last night going through photographs from the 12yr old Cal Ripken State Tournament in Littlefield and it’s about 2-3am when I hear the crack of lightning. I thought to myself that I couldn’t get so lucky two nights in a row with lightning photographs…could I?
Well…I snapped on my Nikor 50mm f1.4 to my Nikon D700 and took off to see what would happen. I got out and looked all around Sundown trying to find the most likely spot to get lucky. It was coming down hard around Hobbs but seemed to far off…then I looked back toward Brownfield and Ropesville and the sparks were flying hard and heavy. I found a cool spot to setup and waited.
If you would like copies of any of these photographs please call me directly 806-891-0378
I have added a few others to the list from 7-29-09.
Cal Ripken 12yr Old State Tournament Hosted by Littlefield TX 2009
Jul 24th
This will be the spot to catch up on highlights and updates on our photographic coverage of the 2009 Texas State Cal Ripken 12yr Old Tournament held in Littlefield Texas. I will update this topic with favorite shots of the day and moments that made a difference or stood out on camera. These images are for you folks…these are your kids not mine and your kids are in the state tournament. That’s something to be very proud of no matter where they end up at when this is over with.
Just so you all will have the information easily at hand.
- All galleries will be in the link at the top right and bottom of every page on this site called “Your Galleries”.
- Pricing is listed in each gallery in drop down menus.
- I recommend putting the images you want on CD which is the first choice in the price menu. You have to have at least 10 images for a CD but no maximum is set and CD’s can be sent to your local Walmart and ready in most case the same day you order it…no matter where you live.
- I have a price cap promise to customers that $150.00 is the most you will pay for a personal choice CD…ask for details or see this link
- Entire Game CD’s are available with moderate resolution copies on it for $125.00 per game….that’s every image in that particular game gallery be it 200 or a 1000 images.
I may not catch every single game…but I’m going to try my best.
Please give me a call 806-891-0378 or talk with me at the field if you have questions about anything.

12yr Old Allstar Championship District III Sudan vs. Littlefield 7-14-09 Hosted by Sudan
Jul 22nd
Man how about that baseball action in Sudan! Good news for Sudan, Littlefield and Levelland and the fact that they are slotted now for the state tournament. The 12yr old Allstar District III tourney was great in many ways and the baseball games where just the highlight. I was able to capture several games from the tourney and they are all uploaded in the Your Galleries link listed top right on this page.
A big thanks to Sudan for their attention towards my efforts to cover the tourney and the fact that they actually announced my presence regularly over the PA system…
Thank you folks…I really appreciated that.
I just finished uploading the final championship games from the 14th with both of the final games combined into one galler with over 1000 images…so take your time going through them.
Enjoy the photographs folks these are your kids.
Amanda and Patrick 2009
Jul 21st

Meet Amanda and Patrick a newly engaged couple soon to get hitched in of all places Hawaii for a location wedding. Patrick was a little tight for the session and was certain he did not want anything to “fooffy”
…like he had the last word in on that one…huh!
This was a fun little session that led us all over the country side to our locations to ultimately end our day with a huge storm rolling in on top of us with near 90mph winds…won’t forget this one anytime soon.
Thanks so much guys for letting me be a part of your next step in life.
HDR (High Dynamic Range) Imaging
Jul 20th
This will be a running topic for HDR imaging that I will add to as time goes on. HDR is a process that lets us see things we other wise wouldn’t have noticed in a standard edited photograph. Some of these photos are very very vivid while others will be just slightly more highlighted. I hope you enjoy these HDR photographs as much as I do.
Helping out a friend
Jul 20th
Had a friend ask me to help him out creatively with some old photos of his grand parents. All he had were two old photos one of his late Grand Father and the other one of his Grand Mother. At first I was going to cut the heads out of the photos in photo shop but when I started looking at them it seemed well balanced to keep them in a photo frame format. The photo is going to his Grand Mother as a keep sake as they never had a portrait done together from what he told me.
The two copies I had to work with…and I do mean copies…these are the actual photographs I used in PS.

This was my idea for him.

Photo Shoot for Little James
Jul 19th
Man I’ll tell ya something about those big ole’ blues just gets ya when you see them up close. That’s exactly what I wanted to try and do for all to see. Little James is about the sweetest little guy you can meet…next to my 2 yr old of course. We got into the house and setup shop for the shoot on top of the Pool table and with a little sheet work and some lights and we had a studio running full tilt.

“Fresh Air” The new look for Steve Conway Photography
Jul 15th
Hey folks welcome to the new look and feel for Steve Conway Photography. I’ve been wanting something cool and unique but also something more simple to view. The old site was good for me because I was used to it and the way everything worked as I have been in deep with that type of site format for several years now. I do have to admit…it was confusing to new comers unfortunately and that is the fuel for the invention and creation of the new site.
So welcome to the new fresh air for Steve Conway Photography I hope it finds you well and fills you with new excitement and anticipation to see the future I want to show you through my lens.

10yr Old Allstar District III Championship Game 2009 – Littlefield vs. Levelland
Jul 15th
Awesome players awesome coaches and an awesome game concluded the District III Cal Ripken 10yr Allstars season for most teams. Levelland however will be continuing their battle in baseball at the state tournament in Amarillo starting on the 18th of July. Wishing them the best of luck and I hope to cover a few games if my schedule allows me to head out of town.
The game gallery has been posted in Your Galleries
Baseball Coverage 2009
Jul 15th
That’s why I love this stuff so much!
Some basics for you folks here for the first time:
I’m going to try to have a blog topic and gallery for each city in which we take photographs in. If we are in Levelland then any games held there will be updated for the Levellnd Tx topic and gallery…games in Sundown…Morton…Brownfield etc…will all be updated in the same ways.
Also just so you know…if you are a member registered here on the site then you can leave feedback and communicate with us here on the site
in a public conversation and as a member you’ll be able to get announcements via email on specials and events we update as time goes on.
The galleries for baseball are in the “Your Galleries” link.
Larger gallerys may take a while to load fully…some of them have 1000+ images
so go get a coke if you don’t have a fast connection!
How to pay…
Find the pictures you want and pay for them online…Paypal takes checks, Visa, MC, Discover and just about everything else.
My recomendation is to put images on CD at $1.95 each…you have to do at least 10 images per CD but no Maximum.
Images on the CD are very high resolution and you can print your own stuff later.
If you only have 1 or 2 or 3 images you want choose the email option
If you have a Walmart close to you we can have a CD ready the same day you order one most days and even prints in 5×7’s and 8×10’s.
Of course if you have questions please call or contact me with them 806-891-0378

Rainy Day Photos of Sundown Texas – “A 30 minute drive around town”
Jul 15th
Most of us when it rains seem to pull ourselves indoors into our shelters. We assume we are missing nothing when it rains. I felt this assumption today myself when I was sitting at home watching it rain outside and watching my wife play Guitar Hero and then my kids playing with their hot wheels. I had no clients to go and see about insurance nor did I have any Baseball games or Motocross races to shot photographs of. So I made the kids put there toys down and threw them and the dog in the car leaving the wife at home with her booted foot elevated and fresh batteries in her wireless controller. It didn’t take long for me to see somethings of interest and as we rolled around town slowly with the rain lightly misting we put the windows down to enjoy the fresh rain air and light mists of on our faces as we drove around town. I popped off about 64 frames with my 18-200 f3.5 lens on and I have found favor with 8 particular photographs.
Enjoy them…they were all shot within 30 minutes of each other and within a 1 mile radius.
If you have an interest in purchasing a copy of any of these photographs please contact me directly 806-891-0378

Sunsets in Sundown Texas – TX – random pictures of the Sundown area
Jul 14th
Well I figured since I’m living in Sundown now that I’m probably gonna catch a lot of sunsets over here. The first part of this topic will contain a few shots I took off of 1585. It’s just a few things I thought were interesting. The funny thing about this set of photographs is that my family and I were coming back home from Levelland after shopping and I just happened to glance over at this old building as we passed by it on 1585. The sun was hitting it with some serious rays and I had to move fast to get any of it in my camera. So I rushed home and unloaded groceries as fast as possible then grabbed my gear and took off!
These were the highlights of the series…
Sundown Baseball coverage for 2009
Jul 14th
Hey guys you found the topic for Sundown Baseball coverage for the 2009 summer season. I’m not sure how much I’ll get in here before everything is over but I’m gonna do my best…seeing as my family and I now live here in Sundown it’s the least I think I can do. I know Allstars will be coming up soon so I’ll make a good effort to obtain as much photographic coverage as possible. All updates leading you to new games I will be capturing in the future will be posted here in later posts. There is a gallery in the “Your Galleries” link where you will find a drop down menu just for “Baseball 2009- Sundown”. That’s where you can get what you want to buy…and do it all online to boot to save time and money.
Let me know if anybody has questions…I’m all about answers.
The first gameday I tried to get out to shoot Sundown and wouldn’t ya know it…the games get rained out! 6-18-09 was the date and I only got a few innings of the Sundown Blue Teams vs. the Red Sox from Brownfield. Here were a few highlights from the small amount I was able to shoot.
It was dark and cloudy and I just couldn’t get the shutter frames up high enough to really freeze the motion and still get light in the shots too…but we still got a few good ones.
A few highlights:
Please…please…please feel free to contact me about games coming up! Especially if you are wanting me to be there for your kids games in particular.
When I got the phone call and emails about the games on 6-22-09 I couldn’t wait to get out there and take shots of the action. The last game day I tried out was raind out…so I was ready for some Sundown BBall! We had a great game in Machine Pitch with the Hooks and Rockhounds and I came out with about 400 good shots that are now up in the “Your Galleries” link under Sundown Baseball 2009. Then we had the big game with the two Sundown teams going head to head and for the Sundown Blue vs. Braves game I ended up with just under 450 good shots to upload. The night games are harder to get right unless your shooting on a Major League field with day light for lights. I did my best even so and stole soem great moments for the game anyway.
For both games on the 22nd I’ve made as well know as I can that for any orders placed with me I am giving back to the league 25% of our profit from everything ordered.
One other note for ya as some folks have been asking me about it. We can do the sports action collages with 2-3 shots in one photograph and pull the shots from the galleries we have up. If it’s just done on an individual bassis it’s $20.00 per player and that gets you a 8×10 collage. More copies can be made if needed at anytime.
Of course call if you have any questions
