What a fantastic battle between two high spirited and high talented teams.  Congrats to  Littlefield for pulling out the win and good luck on your battle tomorrow night.  A gallery is up in the 2010 sports section under basketball for this game.

Well I just can’t help but look to the sunsets now days and wonder what’s in store.  Being on the road a little helps to satisfy that wonder and here are a few cool sun shots from the road over the last week.

This has to have been to most emotionally charged game packed with excitement, joy and disappointment that I have ever been witness to.  To watch Shallowater fall behind by as much as 12 points in the first half to then come back to a 8 point trail in the end of the 3rd period and bring it into overtime just amazed me.  The unfortunate conclusion of the game not being in favor of Shallowater just stuns me even now.  It was their game to have and it just didn’t happen.

“Shallowater Fillies…you rock!  You have some of the largest spirits I’ve seen court side to date.  To Wall…you deserve exactly what you got as you fought hard and then harder to pull your win off…hats off to you girls.  Both of you.”

Shallowater you need to thank Mrs. Whitten for having me cover this event for you.  I know it’s that last game for some of these girls but that is exactly why you need to thank her.  You wouldn’t have these images and memories to grab and hang on to without her.

Levelland is still in the show!  44-29 Levelland.  A few highlights here but the big gallery is up under sports/basketball.

Man I just love little kids and one more over then that I love little kids playing sports!  My oldest Cade is in the Mini Dribblers in Sundown this year and here was a fun practice today.

Well I couldn’t pass up the chance to shoot either of these team in the Dome in Levelland so I postponed my XBOX night with the guys a little bit to go.  Glad I could get some good shots of Idalou this season for BBall as they had a slew of shots from the football season.  Awesome to see both of these teams running in the Playoffs.  Hats’ off to both of ya!!!

I put a small gallery up in the Basketball section for 2010.

Ok…well the first day we did our session with Garrett we didn’t get to hit the field for our baseball stuff for the event that was going on.  Garrett didn’t feel like modeling for all the player on the field that day so we went back the next day.  Here is Garrett and his passion.

The Loboettes are still in the mix and fighting hard to stay there.  They took Monahans by 6 in the last minutes of the game to seal the continuation of their play off trip.  You will find a small gallery in the 2010 basketball section.

If you didn’t look because you were too tired from work and just went inside to end your day I looked for ya!  The clouds were really really cool yesterday.  They were even cooler a few minutes before I took this but I had to go et my camera and things changed a little by the time I got back out.  Awesome works of arts God…you rock!

My first venue into the Texans home court in Levelland at SPC.  Gotta give props to the lighting in the place…it’s pretty good I still added a little of my own but not much.  Hats off to the Texans and Lady Texans for putting up a good fight…

A few highlights from both games

Who said guys can’t have fun taking pictures…this session was a blast.  These two guys took advantage of the 2 for 1 Senior Portrait Special utilizing the same session time and locations to save some cash.

Here are a few highlight sneak peaks…I’m no where near being done with the session but I just couldn’t help post this up as quickly I as I could.

You guys freakin’ rocked!  I don’t remember seeing you guys play as hard and as well as a team as you did this night.  I couldn’t help but try and make this the last home game for you guys the best photographically I possibly could do.  You guys took it to another level tonight as did I…enjoy these shots as you seniors will remember them for the rest of your lives.

Look around you folks…God has so many wonderful things for us to see in the world if we just take the time to notice.  We drive by things and never take a second look to often of those beautiful scene’s He has put before us to hang up on our mental walls…you just have to slow down a little bit and let yourself notice them or better yet force yourself.  Some people just see a dead cut harvest field with a old beat up farm house in the background…I see it and say where is my camera I have to have that shot.  Shoot it now folks…it may not be there tomorrow!

We have some action from the JVB-Varsity Girls and Boys for Levelland vs. Cooper.  What an incredible night of action…and that’s an understatement. All 3 games are posted in the 2010 Sports Gallery under basketball.

A few highlights…and don’t forget about the junior cheerleaders at half time.

This session was a privilege do be a part of and these images of Sarah are something that family an friends will cherish for a lifetime.  This is such an awesome time in life for this young lady and the just the humble beginning of a even more fantastic future.  Her gallery is located in the 2010 Sessions gallery under Seniors.

Levelland and Estacado Varsity Boys…I’m speechless.  So I’ll let the pictures talk for me…the gallery is located in the 2010 sports galleries under basketball.

I feel bad about this game as I arrived very late and only got the last 4 minutes of the 4th period…sorry girls.  I still managed about 50 decent shots including some of the lower classman getting to play in the action.

Well I did it…

I never thought I would actual do a flash driven site but I did.  The BLOG is no longer the main home page for me now.  The new site has the splash page with a few links right on it to take you into the new main site…the BLOG…or directly into the sports gallery. This should make things easier for all.

Things that won’t change is the separate gallery site for most sports coverage.

Personal sessions will be in the Client section of the new site accessible only by those with the passwords.

So go checkout the new site for me…it’s mostly done but I do need to still work on it a little.

Random action from the Skate Park today in Levelland…

Ok here are some of the hot shots from the Hereford Levelland games on 12-15-09.  I wasn’t in too much of a rush as I’m sure not too many folks were just dying to see this game from Levelland.  Never the less I gotta give props too Hereford for being as strong as they were.

Here are some highlights…the gallery is being updated right now and this game will not be uploaded until the 20th do to the update process I’m going through.

They wanted something cool…they wanted something edgy.  Shoot Mom just wanted them to smile!

Santa came to visit the morning 3yr olds class at Sundown Elementary today during their Christmas Party…it was a surprise visit that went over very very well.

Well my son Cade and I are in Lubbock the other day as he was helping me do a family and senior portrait session.  He wanted to spend some more time with daddy so his help came in the form of being a self portable bi-pod.  In between session we came around the corner of Slide and the Loop and had to stop for what we saw.

Well we did our first session with Austin about a week ago but we ended up running out of time and light to do everything we wanted to do.  We had to get shots of him and his Gibson!

Well out of 800 I kept 200…take a look in the gallery system under Levelland Community to see the bulk of them and you might see yourself.

Man I just really love this time of year.

They were having a fund raiser for a family in need with a huge turnout.  Do to my schedule that day I was only able to stay for just a short time but in my few moments while there I was amazed at the abilities showcased at this facility.  Crazy stuff!  I hope I can go again to get some more action shots…this is pretty cool stuff.

Ok I just aged myself.

Anyhow someone asked me if I had taken any icey shots in Sundown the other day.  I did.

The gallery is in the sports section with about 700 shots and each image is both in color and one of my favorite black and white treatments.  I felt this game needed a little extra attention…so I gave it some.

We brave the cold we brave the wind we brave the running noses and why???

Cuz Santa’s coming to town!

Sundowns Christmas in the park was a smash hit with half the town in attendance to hear the wonderful carols from the elementary kids…my son included and of course catch a glimpse of the big guy.  I love times like this and the events that come along with them and I love even more to just sit back and take a look at what’s around me…this is what I saw.

Cool calm and collected is the first thing that came to mind when I met Austin the other day…we took ourselves to a few different places and actually went indoors to get out of the chilly weather.

It was nice to met you Austin.  Thanks for letting me do this for ya.

I just had to do it…took the kids to school this morning and drove around for about 30 minutes just to see what I could find in it’s newly coated color of white.

Meet “Giggles” AKA Stephanie Lopez a Senior this year for Levelland ISD.  Thanks goes out to Mom for support and Don Carpenter (fellow photog) for making Stephanie live up to her nick name “Giggles”!  Had to be the most fun session to date.

In the sports section of the gallery under football and 6 man I have placed 388 images from this game.

A few highlights:

My trek to Silverton which was a 260 mile round trip for me was my first venture into 6 Man Football.  Man was I tired!  These two teams were insatiable with their appetites for scoring and needless the say the action was non-stop.

Unfortunately with my time spent on the field I was able to take about 1400 shots only to have 556 images left after my first run through in edits…but hey something is better than nothing right…especially for a 1/4 Final 6 Man Championship Football Game.

Find your way over to the gallery and look in the sports section and then football.  I’ve added a 6 Man category to football so it’s gonna be pretty easy to find.

Meet the Whitten family through a little Christmas Card Session for 2009…and you can’t forget about JW the family dog.  What a mess!!!

This was a ton of fun guys thanks for calling me!

This was a hardcore game all the way down to the last 6 seconds and the last long bomb pass into the end zone.  I am amazed at the talents on both of these teams…guess that’s what they were both in the Playoffs.  I took about 700 shots and knock it down after edits to about 350.  The game gallery is located in the sports section of the gallery under football in the 2009 gallery…

History has been made today for the City of Levelland wth ground breaking for the Industrial Rail Park Project.  A project influenced and supported by many many folks nation wide.  It’s impact won’t only affect Levelland and it’s future economy with the estimated 1000 jobs it has the potential to create it will ripple effects of it’s benefits nationwide.  It was a pleasure and a honor to be invited to attend as well as record this epic event for the City of Levelland.

Mr. Johnson…life…liberty and the on going never ending pursuit of happiness.  That’s just how you feel once you’ve been around him for a few minutes.  He is a Senior this year for Idalou ISD.

….this one is hard to describe.  It’s make it or break it for both teams in this game and 4 quarters later it’s sudden death overtime two times over to decide it.  No losers in this game…trust me I watch everyone out there and there were no losers on that field.  Hats off to Crane full pulling it out in the end and to Idalou for never given up.  It was fantastic watching you guys play this game thank you for inviting me to be a a part of it.
