Congrats to North Plains for their State Title victory!

Baseball has once again hit my schedule via the State Tourney in Littlefield for the Babe Ruth/ Cal Ripken 15yr Olds. Unfortunately I am not able to devote the hours of editing I usually put in to a sporting event to weed through the missed shots and junk repetition shots prior to uploading them for the gallery.  I just have too much on my plate right now to do much editing so I am posting the galleries up with camera raw images.  Fortunately in the checkout system you can crop all of the images you desire to purchase so you can’t really focus in on those points of interest.

A few highlights from the 19th:

Mason Clark Elam and Devin Laine Price

took their 2010 season to the record books for Sundown ISD.  With a fantastic placement as the runner ups for the 2010 UIL Mixed Doubles at state.  I was asked to do a shoot with them to try and get some clean shots of them doing what they do best.

There was a ton of fun going on at the Sundown pool the other day when my bud Don came out to play with his UW housing to play in the water.  He got a little of everything and sent the images that were worth keeping to me so you guys could steal’em for your selves.

If you don’t know who the ASCO is just know it is a fantastic group of folks coming together for one single purpose to help injured high school athletes with some sort of monetary benefits and support brought on by the events they promote.  If you can try to be a a part of this event in some way in the future don’t hesitate a second to do so.  I was asked by a few parents of the Allstars playing to be present to try to capture some of those shots all parents want.  Man I can’t wait till my boys are into sports enough to get shots like these for them.

Wake boarding in Austin Texas almost didn’t happen today but with persistence and an overwhelming urgency to get the shots Don and I “willed” the rain away….well we got lucky anyhow.  Just a little wake action out of Lake Travis with Pro Boarders Hayden McEntire and Greg Lawrence

two locals that know how to make us look good at what we do.

Update 4-20-2010…..

For the National Tourney I have over 2000 images to go through and I am trying as fast as I can to get them up in a gallery, however the “Senior Season” is upon me and things are moving more slowly than usual.

Coverage for this event has been difficult to say the least but the action I have found has been top notch without question.  6 different gyms across the city holding the games for this tourney have become a hurdle in the least for me.  The few galleries that I will have for this event will be uploaded after the weekend so stayed tuned for the updates.

A little highlight action to get you by.

I was commissioned by Shallowater to come out the Denver City and shoot some action from the District Track Meet.  I had some misfortunes in trying to capture my target subjects but none the less I still got some great action.

yes….I know this was back on the 6th of March but hey better late than never right!  Anyhow this was Sundowns opener for the new field and Sundowns first official tourney win to boot over Borden.  I’m just glad we didn’t play Borden in 6man it would have most likely had a different turnout!  The gallery is up in the Sports Section for 2010 under Baseball of course. The images aren’t that great as I had the wrong lens trying to make do with what I had at the time at the night game.

A little court side action from the Sundown Mini Dribblers Basketball games and of course you can see my little blonde Bomber of course…this has to be one of my favorite sports to shoot.  Truth be known…I got chewed out by my wife a little cuz I didn’t have any pics of my son Cade playing ball…so I had to do it.

What a fantastic battle between two high spirited and high talented teams.  Congrats to  Littlefield for pulling out the win and good luck on your battle tomorrow night.  A gallery is up in the 2010 sports section under basketball for this game.

This has to have been to most emotionally charged game packed with excitement, joy and disappointment that I have ever been witness to.  To watch Shallowater fall behind by as much as 12 points in the first half to then come back to a 8 point trail in the end of the 3rd period and bring it into overtime just amazed me.  The unfortunate conclusion of the game not being in favor of Shallowater just stuns me even now.  It was their game to have and it just didn’t happen.

“Shallowater Fillies…you rock!  You have some of the largest spirits I’ve seen court side to date.  To Wall…you deserve exactly what you got as you fought hard and then harder to pull your win off…hats off to you girls.  Both of you.”

Shallowater you need to thank Mrs. Whitten for having me cover this event for you.  I know it’s that last game for some of these girls but that is exactly why you need to thank her.  You wouldn’t have these images and memories to grab and hang on to without her.

Levelland is still in the show!  44-29 Levelland.  A few highlights here but the big gallery is up under sports/basketball.

Man I just love little kids and one more over then that I love little kids playing sports!  My oldest Cade is in the Mini Dribblers in Sundown this year and here was a fun practice today.

Well I couldn’t pass up the chance to shoot either of these team in the Dome in Levelland so I postponed my XBOX night with the guys a little bit to go.  Glad I could get some good shots of Idalou this season for BBall as they had a slew of shots from the football season.  Awesome to see both of these teams running in the Playoffs.  Hats’ off to both of ya!!!

Ok…well the first day we did our session with Garrett we didn’t get to hit the field for our baseball stuff for the event that was going on.  Garrett didn’t feel like modeling for all the player on the field that day so we went back the next day.  Here is Garrett and his passion.

My first venue into the Texans home court in Levelland at SPC.  Gotta give props to the lighting in the place…it’s pretty good I still added a little of my own but not much.  Hats off to the Texans and Lady Texans for putting up a good fight…

A few highlights from both games

You guys freakin’ rocked!  I don’t remember seeing you guys play as hard and as well as a team as you did this night.  I couldn’t help but try and make this the last home game for you guys the best photographically I possibly could do.  You guys took it to another level tonight as did I…enjoy these shots as you seniors will remember them for the rest of your lives.

This was a requested sports coverage session via Shallowater so sorry if the gallery is a little Fillie Biased…there is a reason for that.

I just wanted to put this information out in internet land about some of the Team Profile Photo Shoots I have been doing.  For each session I do I will place a gallery online in the sports gallery for 2010 in the specific Team Profile Photo Shoots category.

We have some action from the JVB-Varsity Girls and Boys for Levelland vs. Cooper.  What an incredible night of action…and that’s an understatement. All 3 games are posted in the 2010 Sports Gallery under basketball.

I feel bad about this game as I arrived very late and only got the last 4 minutes of the 4th period…sorry girls.  I still managed about 50 decent shots including some of the lower classman getting to play in the action.

Random action from the Skate Park today in Levelland…

Ok here are some of the hot shots from the Hereford Levelland games on 12-15-09.  I wasn’t in too much of a rush as I’m sure not too many folks were just dying to see this game from Levelland.  Never the less I gotta give props too Hereford for being as strong as they were.

Here are some highlights…the gallery is being updated right now and this game will not be uploaded until the 20th do to the update process I’m going through.

This was a requested session to follow the Sundown Varsity Boys Team primarily.  The game came off very one sided with a almost doubled score for Sundown over Willman.

They were having a fund raiser for a family in need with a huge turnout.  Do to my schedule that day I was only able to stay for just a short time but in my few moments while there I was amazed at the abilities showcased at this facility.  Crazy stuff!  I hope I can go again to get some more action shots…this is pretty cool stuff.

The gallery is in the sports section with about 700 shots and each image is both in color and one of my favorite black and white treatments.  I felt this game needed a little extra attention…so I gave it some.

Levelland dominated Bel Air with a 20 point gap…no one on the Loboettes looked like they broke a sweat.

A few highlights:

My trek to Silverton which was a 260 mile round trip for me was my first venture into 6 Man Football.  Man was I tired!  These two teams were insatiable with their appetites for scoring and needless the say the action was non-stop.

Unfortunately with my time spent on the field I was able to take about 1400 shots only to have 556 images left after my first run through in edits…but hey something is better than nothing right…especially for a 1/4 Final 6 Man Championship Football Game.

Find your way over to the gallery and look in the sports section and then football.  I’ve added a 6 Man category to football so it’s gonna be pretty easy to find.

This was a hardcore game all the way down to the last 6 seconds and the last long bomb pass into the end zone.  I am amazed at the talents on both of these teams…guess that’s what they were both in the Playoffs.  I took about 700 shots and knock it down after edits to about 350.  The game gallery is located in the sports section of the gallery under football in the 2009 gallery…

A few highlights…

….this one is hard to describe.  It’s make it or break it for both teams in this game and 4 quarters later it’s sudden death overtime two times over to decide it.  No losers in this game…trust me I watch everyone out there and there were no losers on that field.  Hats off to Crane full pulling it out in the end and to Idalou for never given up.  It was fantastic watching you guys play this game thank you for inviting me to be a a part of it.

A few highlights…

The opening game for the Loboettes and Lubbock Monterey varsity basketball teams looked more like a wrestling match at times then a basketball game.  It’s all good!  I managed about 500 shots in the game but cut it down to a modest 210 that I have put into the gallery.  Just go to the sports section under basketball…it’s the only one in there so far.

This is the Playoff game between Olton and Windthorst.  Parents went out of their way this time to make certain I was able to come to their game.  I did my best to get the shots they wanted.  The gallery is in the Sports Section under Volleyball.

This is just a post to let you know I have finished with the race day photos from the Meet on Saturday at the COM in Midland.  This was probably one of the hardest things I have tried to photograph to this point in my life.  I took about 1600 shots during the day and only ended up with 600ish in the gallery. That is a very high attrition rate for me.  It was still fun though.  Enjoy the photos folks the gallery is up in the sports section under swim meets.

My coverage of the Invitational began Friday with diving.  They had some really great athletes show up from all over Texas  with some incredible talent and control exhibited.  I was able to capture most of the dives and have place them in the gallery system under the Sports section connected with Swim Meets with 2 galleries containing about 750 photographs each.

Just a note: 90% of the photos in the galleries are not edited.  Unlike the photos in this post I have not edited the gallery photos at all.  So expect them to look even better upon ordering.

Note number 2: With the large number of photos in each gallery if you don’t have a fast connection be patient with it as the gallery may not work smoothly until everything has loaded fully.  You can also turn the music off to help just click the moving bars and press stop.

I had a request to pull up a past gallery from the summer baseball stuff 2009.  This is for the Machine Pitch Lamesa vs. Seminole Allstars Championship game held in Levelland on 6-27-09.

I placed the gallery in the sports section under baseball with 697 images in it.

Someone asked me the other day if I had the ability to do other things like graphics and poster collages etc….like for example Senior Announcements and just random cool stuff people might want.

Photos always seem to speak louder than words.

Action from the Levelland – Dalhart game was none stop unfortunately it was extremely one sided.

Highlights for half time included the “Red Ribbon Week Kids” covering the football field with ribbon from one end to the other.  The bulk gallery is in the sports section where several photos of the halftime events are included as well.

While at Cooper ISD the other day I was shooting a sports session for the JV Volleyball teams.  Well when they were done I couldn’t help but stay a while and shoot some Varsity VB to boot.  Here is some of the action in this post and you can find a bulk gallery in the sports section as well.

I was asked to do a sports session at Lubbock Cooper the other day for a few players on the Levelland JV Volleyball team.  Take a look at some highlights here in the post and then you can find the gallery in the sports section under volleyball.

We went to the rodeo…just like a lot of other folks and it was pretty cool seeing someone ride a bull for 8 seconds and come out winning $10,000.  Not to bad.  Anyway I couldn’t be there at not take pictures so here are some highlights in the topic and then I put about 200 good shots in the gallery under sports-rodeo.  enjoy…
