Well I just can’t help but look to the sunsets now days and wonder what’s in store. Being on the road a little helps to satisfy that wonder and here are a few cool sun shots from the road over the last week.
Girls 3A Regionals Shallowater vs. Walls 2-26-10

This has to have been to most emotionally charged game packed with excitement, joy and disappointment that I have ever been witness to. To watch Shallowater fall behind by as much as 12 points in the first half to then come back to a 8 point trail in the end of the 3rd period and bring it into overtime just amazed me. The unfortunate conclusion of the game not being in favor of Shallowater just stuns me even now. It was their game to have and it just didn’t happen.
“Shallowater Fillies…you rock! You have some of the largest spirits I’ve seen court side to date. To Wall…you deserve exactly what you got as you fought hard and then harder to pull your win off…hats off to you girls. Both of you.”
Shallowater you need to thank Mrs. Whitten for having me cover this event for you. I know it’s that last game for some of these girls but that is exactly why you need to thank her. You wouldn’t have these images and memories to grab and hang on to without her.

Man I just love little kids and one more over then that I love little kids playing sports! My oldest Cade is in the Mini Dribblers in Sundown this year and here was a fun practice today.

Well I couldn’t pass up the chance to shoot either of these team in the Dome in Levelland so I postponed my XBOX night with the guys a little bit to go. Glad I could get some good shots of Idalou this season for BBall as they had a slew of shots from the football season. Awesome to see both of these teams running in the Playoffs. Hats’ off to both of ya!!!

Ok…well the first day we did our session with Garrett we didn’t get to hit the field for our baseball stuff for the event that was going on. Garrett didn’t feel like modeling for all the player on the field that day so we went back the next day. Here is Garrett and his passion.

The Loboettes are still in the mix and fighting hard to stay there. They took Monahans by 6 in the last minutes of the game to seal the continuation of their play off trip. You will find a small gallery in the 2010 basketball section.
Silver Clouds over Sundown

If you didn’t look because you were too tired from work and just went inside to end your day I looked for ya! The clouds were really really cool yesterday. They were even cooler a few minutes before I took this but I had to go et my camera and things changed a little by the time I got back out. Awesome works of arts God…you rock!
The Power of Photoshop

Man I just had to put this one up again as an example to folks out there that you can’t just take a picture out of the camera and have it be a good shot most of the time. You gotta work it! This was a portrait session I did for my wife and her sister at Christmas 2008 and I love to use it as the example of what Photoshop can do for a image if used in the right way. Between the hair over all tones, skin and eyes I think I had about 15 layers in Photoshop this image maybe more.
College Basketball SPC Texans and Lady Texans vs. Odessa 2-15-10

My first venue into the Texans home court in Levelland at SPC. Gotta give props to the lighting in the place…it’s pretty good I still added a little of my own but not much. Hats off to the Texans and Lady Texans for putting up a good fight…

Look around you folks…God has so many wonderful things for us to see in the world if we just take the time to notice. We drive by things and never take a second look to often of those beautiful scene’s He has put before us to hang up on our mental walls…you just have to slow down a little bit and let yourself notice them or better yet force yourself. Some people just see a dead cut harvest field with a old beat up farm house in the background…I see it and say where is my camera I have to have that shot. Shoot it now folks…it may not be there tomorrow!

Child Model Photoshoot – Levelland TX

Well this is something you will be seeing more of in the near future. This of course is my son Court 3yrs old…in an outfit provided by a local children clothing outlet. We will actually be setting up a kids open session very soon that the public will be able to come to and get some really cool shots of your kids. Keep looking for more info on that coming soon.

20 degrees…snow and ice everywhere. I’m layered up in 2 shirts a pullover and my jacket along with PJ pants under my jeans my wool socks hat and gloves just to give me an edge. I do this encouraged by my buddy Don Carpenter seeing as the moon was it’s brightest this morning that it ever will be for a long time to come. I went out with no idea of what I’d find but I did have in mind I wasn’t going to look for shots with the moon in them…not directly anyway. I concluded my trip around 3am to head home and see what I got…enjoy folks.

Well I did it…
I never thought I would actual do a flash driven site but I did. The BLOG is no longer the main home page for me now. The new site has the splash page with a few links right on it to take you into the new main site…the BLOG…or directly into the sports gallery. This should make things easier for all.
Things that won’t change is the separate gallery site for most sports coverage.
Personal sessions will be in the Client section of the new site accessible only by those with the passwords.
So go checkout the new site for me…it’s mostly done but I do need to still work on it a little.

Well in my success with photography I have apparently stereo typed myself unintentionally as a strictly sports shooter. I can be just a sports shooter but seeing as my family depends upon my business to pay the bills I need to do more of everything. I have a ton of field equipment including portable studio lights, batteries for being in the middle of no where, bouncers diffusers stands remotes you name it…all of which I can not use while shooting sports. I’m hoping the new style of cards I will be producing for this year will open up those doors for more Personal Portraits…Senior Portraits…Family Sessions…Children and more.

Sundown Sunset and a Bus

Just a simple composition I saw unfold before me. First I the sunset…wow. Then I the Sundown City sign…cool. Of course finally here came the bus…so I got out of my car sat on the side of the road and took it. Kinda cool…I thought for spur of the moment.
